We’re mostly confident beings, but sometimes, just every now and then everyone is plagued by self-doubt. It could be just one of those days when nothing seems to go your way or you’re just mentally and physically drained. Well, there could be umpteen reasons why we question our self-worth but what really matters is how quickly we bounce back to face life’s many challenges, head on.
So, for every one of those times when you’re feeling down and out, it’s important that you indulge in some much-needed self-care. After all, to fuel your success, you first need to be happy and confident. And we know that when it comes to developing self-love nothing else works like magic than some fun, mood boosting me-time activities. We swear by these enjoyable me-time activities and we’re sure you love these too!
It starts with coffee or tea!
Want an instant pick-me up, have a steaming hot mug (or dabara) of coffee! Or if you’re looking for that calming sense of inner peace and contentment, just grab a beautiful ceramic mug (don’t you love them too)?! or a teacup and make some tea. There’s something really fulfilling about making tea that induces a sense of calm. So, get your tea pot, make some chai and do keep a plate of a nice buttery croissant to munch on and we know you’ll start feeling positive right away!
Start a Gratitude Journal
Need a confidence boost? Start dwelling on all the things you have and stop focusing too much on the things you don’t. The best way to start your positivity journey is by jotting down all the things you are grateful for. Gratitude journals are a morale boosting exercise that lets you reflect more on the positives in your life, which helps you build a sense of accomplishment.
Meditate
Yes, this seems so predictable, but you cannot ignore the proven fact that mindful meditation increases your self-worth. So just turn on some soothing music, light some scented candles and start working toward training your mind to become calmer, clearer and more compassionate towards yourself.
Dress Up!
When you're dressed to impress you instantly feel happy and confident. Make an effort to dress up every day. It doesn’t have to be to go to a party; just looking presentable every time can give your mood a much-needed boost. If you feel you’re stuck in a rut, change your wardrobe, shop for some good clothes and start dressing up to boost your confidence. Remember the way you look can influence the way you feel.
Expanding your knowledge expands your horizons and your perspective. Make a cosy reading nook at home and make it a point to spend some quality me-time reading something new. Having a designated place to read will ensure you stay focused. And while you’re at it, don’t forget to make yourself a nice mug of coffee, diffuse some essential oils to maintain a positive ambiance as you curl up with a book for a little while every day.
Being positive, challenging yourself, building a growth mindset starts with self-care. When you care for yourself, you learn to love yourself more. And nothing works like a charm than some much needed me-time to feel grateful and content and ready to flourish.
