Life certainly gets mundane and monotonous sometimes. Be it your 9-to-5 job or your never-ending household chores, things can feel a little overwhelming and tedious at times. While not all of us are adventure junkies there sure are some fun activities that you can attempt to get your adrenaline pumping and indulge in some fun alone time.

A good adventure is sure to make you feel alive and help you break-free from monotony at least for a short while. Although adventure sports are not for everyone, refreshing your senses is a necessity. So, we’ve made a list of some of the most doable
adventure sports that you can try. Just don’t try them all at once but do give one or two of them a shot.

Here is the list of adrenaline-pumping adventure sports for women:

Trekking

Trekking is one of the easiest adventure sports for women that you can sign up for. There are so many trekking trails in India, from plateaus to hillocks that even for a novice it’s not very difficult to start. As you gain more confidence and endurance to trek long hours you can try the more unique and harder treks across mountains, frozen lakes, and glaciers. But then again this would definitely be possible only after you get physically fit and healthy

Rock Climbing

No, we’re not talking about actually climbing a rock. This is a simpler version in a gym. Indoor rock climbing centres are coming up across the country and they’re all supervised climbs with harness and other protection. So, feel like getting your heart racing, just head to the nearest gym that has a climbing wall.

Running

No not a marathon, that can be a stretch for most of us, but you sure can give running a try. Running is one of the most relaxing zen activities and it also makes you fit and healthy, so why not start running? Trail running would be the next stage of the adventure and you could try running across mountains and deserts. But that could be a little too much to start with. Running even at the gym (not recommended all the time) is good but try going to a playground or a track if it’s close to you and start your run.

Caving

This is a new thing in India but it’s slowly becoming quite a favourite. Caving just gets you walking and exploring different caves with like-minded people. There are professionals who organise these walks so you could sign up for it. India does have some really long, dark, caves (even over 20kms). However, make sure you go with a group to explore the dark crevices under a mountain.

Kayaking

This is a mild aerobic activity and not too difficult. You can sign up with a group that provides a life jacket and choose to go to shallow lakes. And now with kayaking yoga routines becoming popular a lot of professionally certified companies and individuals are taking people for these sessions. You could sign up for one to try out slow paddling or do a headstand on a paddle board (not for all).

Bottom-Line

Well, these are the easiest and simplest of adventure sports for ladies to try. If you’re game for something new, then surfing and scuba-diving should be on your to-do list.  And for someone who likes to push the limits, try paragliding, river rafting, bungee jumping, mountain biking, well the list is pretty long. Start with something small before you choose to plunge down a mountain, literally!
