Why a staycation is just what you need right now!

Need a break without the travel hassle? Discover the benefits of a staycation, including relaxation, unwinding, and more time for yourself. Check out our top staycation tips and ideas to...

Who doesn’t crave a small break? After juggling multiple responsibilities, be it mommy duties, office deadlines or college assignments and internships, we’re all drained and hoping for a way to get away from it all. But frankly planning a vacation can be daunting if you’re the one who must do it. And even if time and budget permits, long haul flights and airport commute is something else you need to factor in.

So, if four days is all you’ve got, spending two of them getting to and from the airport, just doesn’t make for a real break and is sure to zap the enthusiasm right out of you. But that’s where staycations can make all the difference. You could just stay home, shut out work and the world and order in or go someplace that’s just three hours away or check-in to a swanky hotel or resort in your city.

Staycations are convenient and give you complete freedom to lounge around or explore your city at a more relaxed pace. And the big advantage — you don’t have to cram your itinerary with endless activities, but just lounge by the pool and sip your favourite poison.

Still not convinced? Here are some reasons why we think you should do yourself a favour and take a break close to home to escape from the daily grind.

Relax, Relax and Relax

If you’re stuck in a burnout-inducing routine, a staycation is just the answer you need. With minimal travel involved you have more time to chill, order room service, immerse in some spa treatments or dive into the resort’s pool. There are no set plans for the day, which could be a first for you. So, you have all the time in the world to indulge in some much-needed self-care

No Travel Hassles

Travelling abroad or to new and exotic place is certainly a great experience. It allows you to experience the culture and local cuisine, but if it involves a lot of coordination on your part, it’s not really a vacation for you. Planning commute, reporting early for immigration or security checks, and preparing for the hundred other things that comes with long-distance travel can be more stressful than you realise

More Time Means More Fun

One of the biggest advantages of a staycation is the amount of time you have to do all the things you want to do. Taking a break close to home lets you maximise your time. If you’re going away for two days, you can be certain that you’ll have all of it to switch off and relax and do some fun things together.

Unplug from the World

When there’s nothing much to do except ordering room service and chilling in bed or by the pool, you’re more likely to switch off from work and other stressors. It’s much easier to temporarily delete work when you don’t have to follow a set routine, be anywhere or do anything.

We’re always in a hurry, rushing around, running errands, taking care of people, pets or work. Yes, a few days of peace and quiet might seem like a luxury. And if you’re going on a vacation, the added responsibilities and stresses that come with travel will not really be a vacation for you. A staycation lets you slow down the pace a bit and indulge in some much needed me-time.

For once you can do all the things you want to do, because time is in your hands. And when there are no chores, no errands, no emails from a pesky boss you sure can break away from the grind. Sure, it’s only for a day or two, but it will absolutely be worth it, because you’ll come back feeling calmer, relaxed, and rejuvenated.
